Since 1972, the Mint Hill Athletic Association has provided many fun, family-filled opportunities for the youth of Mint Hill and its surrounding communities. MHAA offers baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball—and tennis to boys and girls ages 3-18!

The players focus on learning fundamentals, good sportsmanship, and teamwork in a competitive and instructional environment. MHAA’s dedicated coaches and other volunteers strive to provide an enriching experience for every child in a fun and safe atmosphere.

The Matthews Athletic and Recreation Association started as a ball field in the late 1950s. Over the years, it has grown into a bustling operation with many sports leagues, activities, and camps.

MARA is celebrating over half a century of bringing joy to the community. It is heartwarming to hear the stories of grandkids of folks who played here as kids themselves and are now a part of the association. It is a testament to the membership striving to do the right things year after year for the kids at MARA.

Here’s to another 50 years of sports at Matthews Athletic and Recreation Association and all the kids they will serve along the way.

Community Utility Fund 

This fund will help local families pay their utility bills in the winter or spring of 2023. It came about when the founder, Johnathan Roberts, realized how expensive the cost of living became in our area. He and several other businesses got together to look for recipients and raise funds.
